Just Some of The
Dive Sites
1. Watamula
Derives its name from
the Dutch word “Water
Mollen” (Water Mill);
name of the Bordering
National Park. Its
pristine coral
formations make it one
of the top dive sites of
the island. Occasionally
strong currents make for
a great drift dive.
(30’-65’ best, drift
dive)
2. Playa Kalki
“Alice in Wonderland”
our beautiful house
reef. Located just 100
feet straight out from
the pier. Both
directions are great
current permitting go
right. Look for concrete
hand at 25’ about 50
yards right of pier with
rope running down coral
beyond 60’.
(35’-80’ best, shore
dive)
3. Playa Piscado
(Playa Grandi)
In the shallows you will
find old V6 engine
blocks, used by the
local fishermen to
anchor their boats. A
perfect habitat for the
juveniles, all types of
moray eels, lobsters.
Several seahorses and
frogfishes have been
spotted... Do not forget
to pay a visit to our
statue of Neptune!!
Placed in the bay
beginning of 1997.
4. Kortape Point
This rarely visited
divesite offers a
healthy blend of hard
and soft corals
culminating at a
gorgeous plateau 50 feet
down at the point. You
won’t find this site on
the Curaçao dive maps,
but we’ll take you
there.
(35’-75’ best, drift
dive)
5. Grote Knip
It’s named for the
idyllic sandy public
beach. Offers a
moderately pitched wall
teeming with colorful
reef fish. Knip is a
type of local fruit tree
that can be found in
that area.
(40’-75’ best, drift
dive)
6. Klein Knip
Named for the slightly
smaller sandy beach.
With a nice shallow wall
and healthy coral this
is a good dive for all
levels of divers.
(40’-70’ best, drift
dive)
7. Playa Jeremi
Named after the small
public beach. The reef
wall offers some
impressively large stony
coral formations.
(35’-85’, drift dive)
8. Playa Lagun
Named after the costal
village of Lagun. This
site offers a lot of
diversity in both coral
and marine life as well
as a small cave for
those who dare!
(35’-80’, mooring dive)
9. Santa Cruz
Named after the Santa
Cruz mountain and the
nearby tropical beach.
This site offers a
fairly steep wall with
colorful sponges mixing
in with the corals.
(35’-85’, mooring dive)
10. Black Sand Beach
Wreck
The 120 foot wreck of
the Catherine lies
upside down in 20 feet
of water surrounded by
colonies of Garden eels
and nicely encrusted
with brain corals and
sponges. Divers proceed
across the sand flats to
finish the dive on the
northern Mushroom
Forest.
(20’-60’, drift dive)
11. Mushroom Forest
This expansive area of
coral flats is named for
the striking mushroom
shaped coral formations.
One of the top dive
sites of Curaçao. A
great place to practice
your navigation and spot
myriad colorful reef
life.
(30’-55’, mooring dive)

Saba is ideal
for the traveler looking for a secluded haven, in peaceful and friendly
surroundings. Rising steeply from the azure sea, the tiny island in the
Caribbean is a magical experience far away from the cares and worries of today's
hurried world.
Like
all gems, Saba's demeanor belies her birth: violent geophysical upheavals were
her attendants. Eons later, her emerald forests, punctuated by the ruby roofs of
her trim cottages, are ringed by her sapphire blue seas.
For centuries, only local fishermen and sailors knew Saba's waters. It wasnt
until 1981 that American businessmen Del Bunker and Wilson McQueen brought scuba
cylinders to Saba. From the first dive, it was obvious that Saba offered
something truly special. A dive shop was established.
Average Year Round Daily Temperatures
in Fahrenheit
The island of Saba enjoys warm
temperatures; the trade winds and the mountain create ever-changing cloud
movements. Winter evenings often require a light sweater. The annual mean
temperature is 27°C (80°F), varying by no more than two or three degrees
throughout the year. The temperature can drop to 16°C (60°F) on winter evenings.
When climbing Mount Scenery, the temperature will drop by approximately 0.2°C
(0.4°F) for each 100m (330ft) gained in altitude. The average rainfall is 1667mm
annually. |
